Wenheng "Thomas" Zhao, 26, was convicted of providing sensitive information to Chinese intelligence in exchange for bribes, the US Department of Justice said in a statement.

Zhao, who was assigned to the US Navy in Port Hueneme in the state, was accused of taking bribes in exchange for passing sensitive military information belonging to the navy to a Chinese intelligence officer from August 2021 to May 2023.
The information Zhao allegedly sent to the officials included operational plans for a US military exercise in the Indo-Pacific.
