Emmy and Golden Globe winner Bruce Willis was diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022, a dysfunction in some parts of the brain that affects skills such as speech, comprehension and literacy.
The family of Bruce Willis, who announced that he had quit acting after the news of his illness shocked his fans, announced last February that the 68-year-old Hollywood star had frontotemporal dementia. (FTD is caused by the degeneration of nerve cells in the frontal and temporal lobes.) Symptoms of FTD include personality change, emotional instability, difficulties in expressing language, perception and memory problems.
