Secretary of State Antony Blinken made contacts in Nigeria as part of his African tour. Blinken told the press that the US is ready to cooperate to ensure regional security and stability. Blinken stated that although Wagner has provided security support to some African countries, security problems have increased in these countries.

Stating that Wagner, which operates in some parts of Africa, was one of the first actors to step in for military support to Niger after the coup, Blinken said, "You see that people and resources are being exploited by Wagner. But the United States is working to support our partners as they try to find effective ways to tackle security challenges."

Blinken emphasized that the US is ready to cooperate on issues such as intelligence sharing and technical equipment support for regional security and emphasized that they focus on the security of citizens together with local communities.

Antony Blinken noted that they have a comprehensive approach to meet the needs of security forces in African countries.
