The two leaders, who were in France for the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landing, met in the capital Paris. Giving Zelenski the message "we are with you", Biden announced a new aid package of 225 million dollars to Ukraine. On the other hand, Biden apologised to Zelenski for the months-long delay in the passage of the aid package he signed in April, which envisaged $ 61 billion in military support for Ukraine, through the US Congress.
Zelenski, on the other hand, reiterated his belief that the US will continue to provide support by "shoulder to shoulder" with Ukraine. Biden signed a package of $ 61 billion in aid to Ukraine and $ 26 billion in aid to Israel on 24 April, following nearly 6 months of new military support to Ukraine.
Due to political disagreements in the US Congress, there was a delay in the $ 61 billion military support package envisaged to be provided to Ukraine.
