Ituno, a Spanish film and TV actor, participated in a demonstration in Bilbao on January 13 in support of ETA prisoners and carried a banner in the front row.
Following this demonstration, BMW Lurauto, one of BMW's sales offices in the Basque and Navarra regions, recently announced the termination of its advertising contract with Ituno.
"BMW Lurauto is not affiliated with any political ideology, so we regret that the image of Lurauto has been associated with any ideological action," the company said in a written statement.
Spanish airline Iberia also deleted a commercial featuring Ituno from its social media accounts.
On the other hand, the Spanish actress was sent messages of support through social media by some of her fans and the association "Sare", which helps ETA prisoners.
