In an interview with renowned journalist Tucker Carlson, Macgregor, a former Pentagon adviser, told X (formerly Twitter) that a contingent of US and Israeli special forces was shot down in the Gaza Strip as it entered to conduct reconnaissance and identify possible ways to rescue hostages.

"In the last 24 hours or so (the interview was recorded on October 24), some of our (American) and Israeli special forces went into the Gaza Strip to reconnoiter and identify possible ways to rescue the hostages, but they were shot and blown to pieces," Macgregor said.

Not ready to intervene
Not only can he not imagine an Israeli victory one way or another, but the conflict is also very dangerous for the United States, as it risks war with Iran, Macgregor said, adding that the US military power is at its 'weakest point' in recent history and is therefore not ready to intervene in a large-scale conflict.

Earlier, Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder confirmed that US military advisors were in Israel to discuss 'planning' issues.
