According to a statement released by the BDLS, an agreement was reached with the United Service Sector Union (Ver.di) after independent mediators (arbitration) were brought into the negotiations to increase the wages of security guards at airports.

The arbitration's recommendation calls for a wage increase of 13.1 percent to 15.1 percent over 15 months for about 25,000 airport security workers.
