Sweden stopped awarding royal honors to its citizens in 1975, but continued to award royal honors to foreigners.
During the ceremony held at the Royal Palace on Wednesday, 13 people, including the famous music group ABBA, were awarded the royal order.
The group, consisting of Benny Andersson, Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Björn Ulvaeus, was awarded the 'Vasa Royal Order' for their 'outstanding efforts in international music'.
