A 14-year-old student stabbed five people today at a school in Jerez de la Frontera, near Cadiz, Spain.


According to a police spokesperson at the scene, the teenager stabbed five people with two knives shortly after classes started at the school. Three of the attackers were teachers and two were students.

According to Spanish website El Mundo, a biology teacher was seriously injured in the eye. The biology teacher is being treated in hospital, while the others are not in life-threatening condition.

CLASSES SUSPENDED

According to Spanish media, the student attacked ten minutes after classes started, without any discussion. Panicked students in the classroom immediately fled, while students in other classes were locked in their classrooms.

Classes were suspended for the day and the school was evacuated. Police officers will search the classrooms.

The reasons behind the student's knife attack are being investigated.
