Fire officials said a team including search and rescue dogs were searching for any person or persons who may have been trapped in the rubble of the partially collapsed building.

Noting that 2 people were slightly injured during the evacuation of the building, officials said that there was no loss of life in the incident.

The cause of the partial collapse of the building has not yet been determined, but the investigation is ongoing, officials said.

Fire Commissioner Laura Kavanagh, in a statement on her X account, described the lack of loss of life as "miraculous" and said, "Judging by the scene and security camera footage, the situation could have been much worse."

A resident told the press that people had been complaining about the building's disrepair for years.
