Police in the US state of Arizona announced that a 6-month-old baby died after being left in the back seat of a car for nearly 7 hours in a house they went to yesterday following a tip-off.
"The child's mother asked a neighbor to take her 6-month-old baby to Prescott Valley. On the way back from Prescott Valley, the baby fell asleep in the back seat of the neighbor's car. The neighbor was asked to leave the baby with the father who would be home shortly. The neighbor arrived home around 2:00 p.m., parked the car in the hot sun, and entered her home, claiming that she had left the baby in the car. The baby's father called the mother at around 8:45 am to ask when the neighbor would deliver the baby to him. The mother, who was still at work, immediately called her neighbor, who noticed that the baby had been left in the car. The neighbor ran to the father's house and both the father and the neighbor took the baby out of the car, called 911 and tried to perform CPR."
Police said that the mother, father and neighbor were detained and the investigation is ongoing.
