The Belgium-Sweden EURO 2024 qualifying match was suspended after the players decided not to play in the second half following the armed attack in Brussels in which two Swedish fans were killed.

According to local media, at around 19.15 local time, a man wearing an orange jacket opened fire randomly on a street near Sainctelette Square, d'Ypres and Ninieme de ligne boulevards, where he arrived on a motorcycle.

In the footage, it was seen that the suspect got off his motorcycle after firing several shots, entered a building and disappeared from sight.

It is learned that 2 people who died as a result of the attack were Swedish citizens who came to watch the match between Belgium and Sweden national teams as part of EURO 2024 Qualifiers.

Information on how many people were injured in the attack, which took place 5 kilometers from King Baudouin Stadium, is not yet available.

After learning the news during the halftime of the Belgium - Sweden match, Swedish players decided not to play the second half. Belgian players also supported this decision.

Later, UEFA announced that the Belgium-Sweden match was canceled. Security forces advised the fans to stay in the stadium for safety.
